Mamavation monday - What's up with that?!

Hey everyone! Happy Labor Day!

MamavationThis past week has been uber weird. I am a little disappointed in myself, despite this week's weight loss. You may remember, a week and a half ago my GI doc told me to watch my fat intake and walk 6x week. Okay, at first I was rockin' it, the past week, not so much. I haven't drank nearly enough water, and I haven't walked or worked out since Monday night. I have been active, my Gruve is getting to green daily, but that is not what I feel I should be doing. I guess I am just in a funk. I need a karate butt kick out of it!! Sometimes I feel like I need someone, outside of my family, to be like, "Hey, how is it going, how are you doing?" Because my family is the world's worst enablers.

Sorry for the gloominess today, but I needed to get that out. Did it make sense? (Doubt it!)

So, despite the weird eating, and lack of water, I still lost 2.0 lbs this past week, which puts me at 13.7 lbs lost since I joined Mamavation, and that is great, but I feel like it was undeserved. Scratch that, if I am getting out of this funk, it won't be like that. I deserve every loss that I achieve. There.

So I am STOKED about our blogging carnival sponsor for this week! Chef's Requested! Check out their website! They have 100 calorie portioned steaks! I haven't discovered if there are any stores around here that carry Chef's Requested, but I will be looking closer...

Congrats to my girl @gretablau for being named SOTW this week! She is absolutely deserving! Oh, do me a favor and check out her OpenSky shop! Awesome cause, and awesome products!

Have a great week sistas!

I am a little perplexed... you didn't walk 6 full days but you hit green on your gruve everyday? You didn't fee like you gave it your all, but you lost 2 pounds? I cannot question if you feel proud of your daily efforts, but your results are contributing to a long line of consistent results. In my humble opinion you had a great week despite not feeling supported in your efforts by your family. It may not be a week you can have every week so feel grateful if you can. Feel grateful that you have put in so much work already that your body is trained to work more efficiently. You are doing fantastic overall! Have an awesome week... don't let those saboteurs derail your efforts.

I definitely think you attitude about it will make you fail or succeed. Remember you don't have to do it all at once. If you have 5 min or 15 min extra use it to get some walking in. I really have found scheduling the time into my day is the only way I stay consistent. If I don't plan it I don't do it! You can do it!!

Congrats on the loss 2 lbs is definitely worth being proud of, keep up the great work.

Time to defunk! This week will be better but you have to keep telling yourself that. The mental game is just as big and important as the physical stuff. You probably did more than you realize or you wouldn't have lost 2 pounds AND gotten your Gruve to green :)

Your doing great! Don't be discouraged. You had a loss and were active. You should be happy with that. Just keep your head up and keep pushing. Have a super week!

Dr Phil's book had an interesting section on why family doesn't support us in our weight loss journey - I'd recommend borrowing the book from a library and checking that section out - it really makes it easier to understand why they do it, and therefore better able to ignore their sabotage. Good luck - you can do it!

You might feel like you're in a funk, but your accomplishments say otherwise. Maybe there's something "else" going on that's stopping you from feeling like you are out of balance.

It happens, especially as moms, caregivers, wives, etc. We wear so many hats we forget to focus on ourselves.

Congrats on the weight loss and exercise - you are doing many things right! :)

hey thanks for posting my opensky link!! i really hope i can help the organization with some money! i've gotten a few sales already!

you know what? i find these funks every so often and you just have to kind of fight your way out of them. acknowledge what you DID do!! You lost 2 pounds! You got Green on your Gruve all week! That's fantastic!! Forget about what you didn't do last week and start tomorrow anew.

I need to drink more too, so let's check on each other this week, okay? And I'll be checking on your exercise too. You gotta take care of yourself, woman!!

Funks like that happen after two weeks when you take on too much. Slow down just a bit so that you can mentally handle it. That would be my advice. BUT don't give yourself an "out" if you know what I mean. Just make some practical decisions about what you can manage and what you can't at this present moment. Get used to it and add more in 2-3 weeks. XXOO

I wonder if there was something in the atmosphere because I feel it was a strange week here as well! I still find your accomplishments wonderful and hope that you have an AWESOME week!

we all have rough weeks and it sounds like you have the right mind-set to make it just one week and not an excuse to fall further into the funk! You can do it! You've been doing it! and you are doing awesome!

If you had a two pound weight loss and hit green every day, you are definitely burning enough calories to achieve healthy weight loss. So what if you didn't get in all the walking you wanted . .. you obviously achieved activity/calorie burning in other ways. That's good, girlie! :)

I'm sorry you feel frustrated with yourself right now. I agree wit Leah -- it sounds like a good time to slow down and evaluate what you're really achieving . . . because it sounds better than you're giving yourself credit for.

Yeah, funks stink. But you know what? You lost. You're getting to Green. You're still doing the work. So I have a feeling if you can keep that up, the funk will lift.
You can do it.
